I prefer the bottom picture over the the top picture. The bottom picture shows the depth of the bone and also more texture. The top just shows the length. The bottom picture also leaves more to the imagination.
I agree with you, I prefer the bottom over the top image as well even though these are both really awesome. You can tell more so the size of the top, as on the bottom, it is questionable. I like mystery which is why, like you, I vote for the bottom photo too.
The second image is really great. It is fairly abstract at first, before i realized what it was! It's cool how it looks like a tunnel from the smaller view of it. Nice job finding an interesting perspective that changed the impact of the subject matter.
